Google Android Data Settlement 2026: Claim Your Share of $135 Million

Google Android data settlement

Google has agreed to a $135 million settlement to resolve allegations that Android-powered mobile devices transmitted user data without proper consent. While the tech giant has denied any wrongdoing, the settlement could provide compensation to millions of eligible users across the United States.

The lawsuit, officially titled Joseph Taylor, et al., v. Google LLC, claims that devices running the Android operating system collected and shared data with Google without user permission. The agreement aims to settle the dispute without admission of liability.

Who May Qualify

According to the official court notice, individuals may be eligible for compensation if they meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a U.S. resident
  • Used an Android device with an active cellular plan
  • Usage period falls between November 12, 2017, and the final settlement approval date

Eligible devices include those manufactured by brands such as Samsung, Motorola, and Google itself.

The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for June 23, 2026.

How Much Money Can You Get?

Although the total settlement is significant, individual payouts are expected to be relatively small. Eligible claimants could receive up to $100, depending on the number of valid claims submitted.

How to File a Claim

Users who believe they qualify must submit a claim through the official settlement website. After filing, claimants will need to wait for verification and final court approval before any payments are distributed.

Those who are uncertain about their eligibility can review the detailed criteria on the settlement site or contact the settlement administrator for assistance.

Important Deadlines

  • May 29, 2026: Deadline to opt out or object to the settlement
  • June 23, 2026: Final approval hearing

Failure to respond by the deadline will automatically include users in the settlement, preventing them from filing a separate lawsuit in the future.

Related Case

This settlement is separate from another lawsuit, Csupo v. Google LLC, which resulted in a $350 million payout after a July 2025 verdict. That case also involved similar allegations regarding data privacy, with Google again denying wrongdoing but agreeing to improve transparency and user consent practices.

When Will Payments Be Sent?

Payments will only be distributed if the court grants final approval. Any appeals could delay the process further. According to the official notice, claimants are advised to remain patient as legal proceedings continue.
